Neck Lift

Sagging skin can often be one of the most visible signifiers of the ageing process, and one of the first places to show signs of ageing is the neck. Whilst many people are aware of procedures that can improve and restore their facial skin’s appearance, the neck is an often neglected area, which can cause a sagging or ageing neck to belie a youthful face. As with skin on the face, skin on the neck slows in collagen production as we age, causing it to lose elasticity and sag. This is particularly evident in those who have experienced rapid weight gain and loss, or in some cases where excess sun exposure has been experienced.

Fortunately, at Face Medical Clinic, we know exactly how to treat sagging skin, with a range of neck lift treatments available to our patients. Prior to your procedure, a consultation with our expert aestheticians will carry out an in-depth analysis of the skin to determine which of our treatments is best suited for each individual patient. most commonly muscle-relaxing injections such as Botox, or through the use of filler.

The Procedure

Depending on what treatment is determined to be best for you, procedures will vary. Face Medical Clinic takes a personalised approach to every patient, which is why a consultation is so essential. Patients who choose to proceed with muscle relaxing injections will be administered with injections around the jawline and sides of the neck. This will paralyse the underlying muscles in the neck and allow skin to settle more smoothly, providing a “lifting” effect and greater definition to the jaw to great success. Some patients may find their condition is more suited to treatment with filler rather than Botox, where hydrochloric acid, a substance that occurs naturally in the body, is injected to plump the skin in the neck and eradicate wrinkles. Filler is usually a better alternative for patients with milder symptoms.

Neck lift procedures at Face Medical Clinic will require follow up treatments to retain their effectiveness in the long term, usually after 4-6 months, though filler patients may find results last from 9 months to a year. Patients who opt for Botox treatment will notice full results after 14 days, though a difference may be evident immediately after treatment, whereas patients treat will filler can see an instant improvement that will improve further over the next four weeks.
